
Meaningful Support for the Gilgamesh Opera from the Gedik Education Foundation
he cultural legacy of Ahmed Adnan Saygun, one of the greatest composers of Turkish music, is being revived with the opera “Gilgamesh.” This timeless work, which brings together the melodies of the East and the polyphony of the West, will be performed by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet on May 17, 2025, as part of the 16th International Istanbul Opera and Ballet Festival. Directed by Caner Akın, the “Gilgamesh” opera will make its world premiere at the Atatürk Cultural Center Turkish Telekom Opera Stage.
